Alpha Tau's Commitment to Service

Alpha Tau prides itself on its commitment to service. We go above and beyond Kappa Sigma’s “A Greater Cause” initiative averaging over 30 hours of service $150 dollars donated per year per brother. In this semester alone, we have averaged over 20 hours per brother and $120 per brother. As a member of Alpha Tau, service is more than an expectation, it is a culture that we continue to nurture and grow through our various partnerships and projects. Every morning, brothers volunteer at two local homeless shelters sponsored by Atlanta Mission. We serve breakfast to those less fortunate and volunteer in their annual 5k fundraiser. It is a great opportunity for our brothers to hear stories and be humbled. Each year, before the fall semester starts, several of our brothers leave to join the Missionaries for the Poor in Jamaica, spending a whole week of their summer holiday taking care of the disabled at a monastery.

Additionally, we host an event called the Kappa Sigma Games with the mission of raising awareness to the issue of mental health and suicide on campus. We also actively take part in the philanthropy initiatives of other fraternities and sororities on campus.
